In 2021, Jake and I purchased our first home in Casa Linda. The kitchen of our new home featured the trendiest finishes that 2014 had to offer, so we decided to remodel. 

We assumed that we knew what to expect because we both had jobs at prominent architecture and construction firms. But five months into a three month schedule, we were still warming up Trader Joe’s meals in a guest bedroom microwave. Even worse, Jake had convinced me to chose the most ‘vanilla’ finishes (from the limited selection our contractor offered us) because he said they would be the least offensive to future buyers. Ironically, we look at our own kitchen today and realize the next owner will likely have to remodel it all over again.

In the years since, we have had the unique opportunity to work on many other homes across Dallas. Those experiences have taught us that homes are more than just financial investments; they are the spaces where we live our lives, and they should reflect the beauty, utility, and durability of a life well lived.

We created Pieper Building Company to help families create homes they can enjoy for many years to come. We hope to leave a quiet, but lasting legacy across the community we call home.
